Eating On a Budget in College

College is the first time for many students that they are responsible for how they spend their money. There are hidden costs everywhere: textbooks, clothes, gas, drinks, etc. However, there is one thing that shouldn't be sacrificed: food. I observe countless peers starving themselves, skipping meals, or eating junk food just because their budget doesn't allow them to eat better. This used to be me until I discovered that there are other options.

Skip Class, Ace Tests

The weather outside is beautiful. You don't want to get out of bed. You're hungry. There are so many reasons that might tempt college students to skip class. With the following tips, learn how to ditch classes without falling behind.
  • Syllabus Week. This is the time at the beginning of each semester when nothing goes on in class. Teachers go over their syllabus (which you have been hearing since elementary school), and most students are still adding and dropping classes. The bottom line is: this is a free week. Enjoy an extended vacation and go have some fun.

Should I Go Greek?

To rush, or not to rush - that is the question among so many new college freshmen as they enter what should be the best four years of their lives. They've heard horror stories about fraternity pranks gone wrong, they hated the social hierarchy in high school (unless they were on top), and they certainly don't see the logic in "paying for your friends." But despite all of these negative sentiments towards Greek life, it is hard to tune out the amazing social opportunities, networking possibilities, and, well, the fact that Greeks tend to run the business world.
